Cakal is three stages away from the win

Lot of changes in the overall standings because of the crash of Ugur Soylu and the heavy rain near Sliven.

Mustafa Cakal and Ozgur Akdag (Hyundai i20 R5) are the overall leaders in Monbat Rally Sliven after the Saturday morning loop of stages. The Turkish crew took advantage of the heavy crash of Soylu on “Trapoklovo 1” and set the fastest time on the wet “Aglikina polyana” to secure a comfort lead over Georgi Vasilev and Stefan Dobrev (Mitsbishi Lancer Evo 9).

The former national rally champion of Bulgaria was fastest trough “Ichera 1” and cut the deficit to 3,9 seconds but lost near minute because of the poring rain on the next stage “Aglikina polyana”. Third in the overall standings and leaders in the 2WD category are Anton Titov and Dinko Georgiev (Peugeot 208 R2). Only 2.3 seconds separate them from Dilian Stankov and Yordan Yordanov (Peugeot 208 R2).

The last loop of stages covers 54.41 km. The prize giving ceremony will start at 18:15 EEST.
