The two-time winners in Monbat Rally Sliven Miroslav Angelov and Georgi Gadzhev with Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo will start with competition number 1. The crew of Megaport will be fight for a third consecutive victory in Monbat Sliven Rally, and its main competition will be the Turks Ugur Soylu / Aras Dincer (Skoda Fabia Rally2) and Mustafa Chakal / Ozgur Akdag (Hyundai i20 NG R5). Enis Arif and Carmen Poenaru (Romania) with Skoda Fabia Rally2 complement the quartet with Rally2 cars.
Strong performance is also expected for the teams with older, but no less attractive, RC2 class cars Martin Surilov / Zdravko Zdravkov (Comp. Number 5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and the champions in Bulgarian rally championship for 2015 season Georgi Vasilev / Stefan Dobrev (Comp. Number 6, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX). Two Turkish crews will try to oppose the Bulgarian tandems with similar cars - Bugra Khan Kilic / Ali Emre Yulmaz (Comp. No. 7) and Cem Alakoc / Emir Sahin (Comp. No. 8).
Monbat Rally Sliven 2021 is set to be one of the strongest events for 2wd cars in recent years. Thirteen cars are registered in the RC4 class, and they are led by Daniel Popov and Angel Bashkehayov (Comp. Number 9, Peugeot 208 Rally4). The Swede Adam Westlund will start for the second time in Sliven, this time he will be on board the Ford Fiesta Rally4 (Comp. Number 10), and his co-driver will be Lucas Karlsson.
The representatives of the R2 cars will also be serious competitors for the prize positions in the 2wd cattegory - the first of them will start (Comp. Number 11) last year's champions Denis Stanchovski / Yavor Brankov (Peugeot 208 R2). Always fast Anton Titov / Dinko Georgiev (Comp. Number 12, Peugeot 208 R2) also have the necessary experience to be in the fight for the top positions, and a serious performance is expected from the local crew Dilian Stankov / Yordan Yordanov (Comp. Number) 14, Peugeot 208 R2).
One of the surprises for the spectators is the return of Grigor Grigorov in the competitions of the Bulgarian Rally Championship. Grigorov will again rely on the extremely experienced Petar Sivov as a co-driver, and the two will be on board a well-known car - Peugeot 208 R2.
In 2019, the Hungarians Gergo Dudas / Krisztian Szabo (Peugeot 208 R2) failed to start in Sliven, but it seems that after their second successful performance in Rally Bulgaria about a month ago, they will do everything possible to win good points for the European Rally Trophy in Monbat Rally Sliven.
The three-time European ladies champion Ekaterina Stratieva will record another competition in Bulgaria this season. After Rally Bulgaria and the rally sprints in Peshtera and Dryanovo, Kateto and her co-driver Georgi Avramov (Peugeot 208 R2) will again try to successfully oppose the leaders in 2wd cars cattegory. Among them will be the traditionally fast Hristo Atanasov and Marin Ivanov (Citroen C2).
Romanian athlete Cristiana Oprea will also take part in Sliven. This year, Christiana will be with new Peugeot 208 R2 and will rely on Cornel Socariciu for accurate notes on the technical routes in the Sliven Balkan.
